Irish moss, also known as sea moss, is a species of red algae found clinging to submerged rocks throughout the northern Atlantic. Chondrus crispus, scientific name, is a natural superfood, that contains 92 of the 102 minerals that the human body requires.
Irish moss is high in amino acids, excellent source of dietary fiber, low in saturated fat and cholesterol and contains a number of vitamins(A,D,E,C,K) Iodine, sodium, Sulphur and Phosphorous all of *which may boost the immune system and prevent cellular damage.
Irish moss naturally contains carrageenan, a substance widely
used for its thickening and stabilizing properties. Irish moss can be added to your favorite vegetarian dishes, broths, smoothies or shakes.
